I'm going to be in Marble Falls the first weekend of June for a wedding. I'll only have a couple of hours to fish, but would like to sling a fly around a little while I'm there. The requirements would be somewhere close to Marble Falls and have easy access. I'd prefer not to fish lake mf. Any suggestions?

Inks Lake is good, lake Marble Falls is pretty good as well, LBJ is probably the best choice though

All the lakes mentioned, from Lake Buchanan to Town Lake in Austin are all Colorado River fisheries.
Very Kind Regards, Charlie47

You are only about 20 minutes from the Llano river. That would be your best bet for sure. Check out Longs fish camp.

I'll be bank fishing or wading. It doesn't really matter what--other than catfish.

http://lcra.org/water/dams/starcke.htmlThis is the ONLY way I would even go if on foot. You can park a the top and walk the trail down. Whites, Carps, LMB, catfish, striper and so on. There is an honor box at top so bring a few singles.

It's more than the catfish would do.

theres not much bank access on lake mf, and what there is you will be crowded with "fans". lbj is good, lotta parks out there, but all in all i would go to the slab in kingsland. Huge carp/buffalo, nice numbers of bass, and the occasional cat make their way around. just watch out for the crowd. first week in june plus the weekend, you will be doing some walking. and it is only about 20 minutes away from marble. inks lake is good as well, but i would look into the slab in kingsland (llano river)

Inks is nice at the state park but ou have to walk or drive were there isnt a lot of people its hard fishing but is possibly. Come to san saba and fish at the parks with a five wait and nymphs and some minnow patterns and catch a bunch of gills and bass. Or fish lbj has great whites on shad patterns (decievers, clousersm, any thing with a grey top) but you need some kind of boat or tube to get across the lake. Ask me if you need any more information live right by marble falls and can kinda help guide you if you need it.

From Marble falls take 1431 West, go through Kingsland and turn left on FM 3404. River crossing is about a mile down.
