Are we talking about including the trash rods in the closet, the 'neverused'.
OR
Just the good stuff, well, the best crappy stuff we use right now after the good good stuff is broken, and we haven't found the right sale, or replaced the best line.
Dang I need a BVK in a 5, or a Teeny Shooter, 350 grain
The ONLY reason to fish with a fly rod in Texas is to throw a POPPER, casting any other type fly just means you're doing something.

I've never used the spey though. This is where it gets dangerous. Next y'all will have me talking about rifles I own that I've never fired. They're an investment! Besides, I've got the brass, bullets, and dies. There's only one instance where I bought the rifle because I already had the setup to reload for it. My current fly flinging arsenal consists of a 3, 5, 7, 7/8, 8, 9, 6-8 Mini Mag, and a 8-10 Mini Mag. Nine times out of ten when I'm in the boat, I have the 3wt and the two Mini Mags rigged and ready. The smaller Mini Mag will have floating 9wt line and a Charlie's Plopsicle for the sudden appearance of schoolies. The big stick will either have my T-17 anti-submarine homemade shooting head or some Rio Saltwater Clouser with something approximately the size and weight of a medium wombat. Just to stir the pot a little, you don't have to use the size line that the manufacturer printed on the rod. You can always go up or down, depending on your current needs. Cue over/underlining flame war.

I have full, unfiltered certainty of that fact . I did not respond to this question earlier up because I have no idea exactly how many fly rods, reels and lines I have...

This is great! More confused than I was when I asked. @bryan_g no tricks this is not a female impersonating me.
I got the answer I expected, I am sure that I will end up with duplicate wt rods and reel configurations, but they will be for the ones I use the most. Time will tell! Just trying to see what others did and trying to determine if I could do this relatively cost effectively... Then again it is fishing!!
Thanks all for the information guys!!

It's a very expensive, crazy, joyous addiction. Not as dangerous as some vices I know, but probably more costly than most.

I got a whole lot of junk rods of every type, Nothing cost over 60.00 bucks most were half that. A couple of 4 weights that I built but most are 5-6 weight cheap rods from Academy. I've had one $100.00 plus fly rod and used it until the third breakage that wouldn't hold a repair. Since I broke the second cheap Okuma 8 weight last spring (2011) I went old school and all the way back to my first fly rod bought in 1979 for 12 bucks. It's a fiberglass Browning Silaflex 6/7 weight and one of the two fly rods I carry at all times.
