So I have been using a friends kayak for a while now, it's a native ultimate. I really like the open bay design, and after riding other SOTs, I prefer a more open bay hybrid type kayaks. I also just recently rode a wilderness systems commander, and it is also a very nice yak. Does anyone own either of these? what are your thoughts on them? what do you like or dislike about them? Are there any other other manufacturers that make a yak designed similar to these two models? thanks.

I can't think of any other manufacturers. I would say go with the Native ,more bang for the buck. If you could come to Fort Worth You could get extra bucks for buying more accessories. talk to Rick at Anglers Pro Tackle.Good peps! The Ultimate tandem was the go to boat at the R.I.S.E event . Very stable fast yak.

There's also the Malibu Ranger 15. I like the WS Commander over the Native, but they're both great yaks. The advantage to the Native and Malibu is the ability to use it as a tandem or solo.
