I use the green ones from walmart and they work fine for me, but I'm a rookie, let's see what the pro's recommend,

I use Mr Crappie slip bobbers with braid and it works just fine for me.

When I'm out of bobber stops I use a thin rubber band. Cut it and tie it tight and trim close to the knot.I keep um in my tackle box.

I've been using just a plain old rubber band - the skinny ones. Just tie it on and clip the ends off close. Holds well and stays where you put it.
