This is a picture of my Wilderness Systems Ride. Sometimes you'll hear people say that the ride doesn't have any good places to mount rod holders but I mounted two Ram Mount rod holders on the back of mine and they worked out great. I ABSOLUTELY SUGGEST THE RAM MOUNTS FOR ROD HOLDERS! The Ram's are made with two ball joints and can be moved into ANY position you want. You can point them straight out for trolling or keep them low to the boat when going through tight spaces and under bridges. They're $34.99 a piece on
www.kayakfishinggear.com but they're worth EVERY penny. The Scotty's are much less versatile. I put a pair on and ended up taking them off and replacing them with the Ram's.
If you look close you can also see the depth finder I mounted on the front. It worked okay but I later switched to the portable type with the suction cup transducer and I like it much better.

This is my Tarpon 160i. THE TURBO BOAT!
This was on a very cold, rainy, and windy post front day in late January - I was prefishing for a tournament.
Not the best picture of rigging but you can see the Ram Mounts again. Also, in front of me in the cockpit I have a Scotty rod holder mounted that you can't see. I know I just said I don't like the Scotty's and for my utility rod holders I don't. The front Scotty is only there to hold my rod while I'm paddling to the next spot. Also, the Tarpons are made in such a way that the Scotty fits perfectly up there in front.
You can also see the cable and a little bit of the transducer from the portable depth finder I was talking about which I keep right in front of me between my legs. The one I use is the Humminbird Piranha Max Portable. It works great and it's easy to transport from kayak to kayak or even a boat.
The other cable you see leading towards the back of the kayak is for my rudder.
This picture makes me look really unorganized but I'm usually not. I had just caught that trout in some nasty wind and I was in a hurry to snap the photo before getting blown all over the bay. Often times people complain about the size of the tankwell on the 160i but I can keep one softside tackle bag with 4 plastic boxes, one TALS tackle pack, my wading boots, anchor, net, stringer, and my drift sock in there with room to spare. I have yet to go out fishing and feel like I was unprepared for something because I couldn't fit enough gear in the tankwell. Any more gear and I would just about sink.

In this picture you can see the Ram Mount rod holder in the left side of the picture. You can sort of get an idea of where the two ball joints are and how the Ram can be adjusted.

I included this picture because you can get a little glimpse of the Scotty I have in the front of my T160i. I usually take 3 rods with me so I'll have two in the Rams on the back and one I'm using. Then, when I need to paddle, I slip the rod I'm using up in the Scotty and it's ready to take out and make a quick cast when I get to my next spot or if I see a tail or some other target I need to cast to.
I'll try to get a picture of my cockpit the next time I go out so you can see how I organize everything. I just realized I don't have just a plain old picture of my kayaks on dry land without me in them. I'll have to work on that.
