I was talking to a guy about Grapevine Lake and he said the corp of engineers placed and aerator close to the damn. Does anyone know if this is true and where is it?

yes there is an air line that also runs down the face of the dam and into the water it is about 20 yards from the face of the dam in the middle you cant miss it

Not only can you easily see it, you can usually smell the shad if you come up to it from down wind, lol.

Is it running yet? They have turned them off the last several winters and they usually turn them back on about this time of year.

Been on for at least 3 weeks, lots of shad and some fish. Last 3 days we have put over 300 keeper sized sandies and 100 channels and blues in the boat. All on live bait and on the flat at murrell. They come in waves out of the deep up on the flat.

I knew it was the place for shad...sometimes you get a bunch of small ones that take a long time to pick out....how do you rig your shad?

Thru the eyes or tail. Use a eagle claw rotating crappie hook with split shot above.Catfish santee cooper rig.
