The fisheries biologist in the pic didn't care for it and tossed it on the bank. Ouch

I tend to over think fishing. Please help me. When I am over complicating something please kick me in the face. Hard.

the biologist broke the law. Waste of game in general rules TPWD You are dead wrong on that one. Carp are not considered game fish, therefore they are not a waste of "game". I suggest you check your facts first.

Let me repost, the biologist cradled the fish like a little baby and ask a young man on the bank if he would like to have it. He then gently wrapped it a fine silk blanket and iced it down.
The fish is now feeding a starving family of orphans that live down by the river in a tent.

actally it is against the law to just throw any fish away that can be eaten, if you look on the tpwd website, its clearly wrote. http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/regulations/fish_hunt/fish/general.phtmlIBTL

Good try, but TPWD does not qualify rough fish as edible. If that was the case, everyone who has shot a coyote, hog, coon, etc. is guilty of this crime. Get off your pedistal and thank the man for giving you information on where some carp are.

really then why did the us government introduce carp as a food source back in the 1800's.
Waste of fish - It is unlawful to leave edible fish or bait fish taken from the public waters of the state to die without the intent to retain the fish for consumption or bait.
says it right there. people to this day still eat carp and buffalo. all you had to do is scroll down a little bit and look, but guess that was too hard for ya.
and im not on no pedestal, just pisses me off when people break the law cause they think they know everything and are above it.

"Waste of fish - It is unlawful to leave edible fish or bait fish taken from the public waters of the state to die without the intent to retain the fish for consumption or bait." I've called TPWD asked about this, I've spoken to wardens @ Benbrook and Hubbard, in reference to Carp, Gar, Buffalo. All say the same thing. If you kill it, you better take it home with you and not get caught throwing it on the bank or back in the water.
