This is actually a non kayak report. I fished off of the fishing pier across from headquarters. I caught 8 bass all between 16 and 18 inches, I figured they were 2-3 pounds each in 3 hours. I used gold fish under a slip bobber about 2-3 feet. There were alot of fish on the surface until 11am that were about 200 feet in front of the pier that I couldn't cast to. If I had the kayak I would have been able to reach them. Purtis Creek looks like a great place for bank fishing, kayak fishing, or tube fishing be sure to give it a try. You should be able to land these size of fish.
Cedar Creek Lake, I'll catch you later, it wouldn't work for me either, I have relatives coming in.

I've fished Purtis Creek on four different occasions! Great little lake to fish! Got some monster Bass in there and some huge crappies. If you camp there, hit the peirs at night with minnows and you will catch some VERY big crappie! My fiance and I head out ther with the canoe! She has a real nice 6 pounder out of there.I've caught fish 3-5# range on all trips out there. We've both lost BIG fish out of there from getting wrapped up under logs and such. We both lost them the same day when we were using lighter test lines....won't do that again! Once this weather cools down again, I'll head out there again! Is there a cold front coming through soon? Hope so! Never had much luck with Crappie during the day out there, i just can't ever find them.

Haven't done much "line wetting" here lately, but next month I have big plans to kayak Purtis and Athens. I'll be sure to report afterwards.
