Replacing the pressure control(poppet valve) valve on my Yamaha 225. I managed to drop the new rubber gasket into the motor. What now? Do I have to get it out? If so how? I am real impressed with my mechanical skills at the moment. Thanks for all of your help.

Not sure but maybe you could hook up some water muffs and push it out with water?

I would try a good shop vac. I have seen some pretty neat tricks done with a shop vac.

Tried both ideas yesterday. cant see into the motor. I cant not feel it with the wire. The shop vac was no better. Any other ideas? What if I left it in the motor? Thanks

Try putting duct tape on the wire sticky side out and probe around gaskit should stick to it.

Pulled the exhaust cover and their it wasn't. I can however see better into the motor. But still can't put an eye on it. fished around with a wire and can't feel it. Pulled lower unit with hopes it would be in the exhaust. No luck. Tried running compressed air up the water pump tube to move it or get in view. Same results.
I think my best chance is a fiber optic scope. Anyone have one I can use or rent?
Thanks

Are you 100% sure it actually went inside? Don't ask me why I would ask this. LOL.
