Bobm and I went to the Brazos below P.K. dam saturday, very slow fishing.I was surprised. We went below Flints Bend about a half mile and it didnt change.Bob did hook on to some nice Carp on the fly.I only caught one fish all day.Maybe next time. But maybe it will be better later on this year though.Hope so cause I am not going back till the fall.My favorite part of the Brazos but something isnt right with it right now.Next weekend we are going to The Brazos below Whitney and see if its any better.Ill report on that next weekend.

My fellow kayaker at work was out on the Brazos this friday and raked in 15 pounds of catfish with 3 fish. He then went on and caught some throw backs and called it an early morning. I think he fished for about 3 hours. He was saying the water is low right now. I am not sure exactly where he put in at. Thanks for the report. It is good to hear how others are doing. Good luck on your next outing.

Copperhead, How did the water look. Clear or was it stained? I went from 16 to 180 bridge in April and water didn't look as clear as in years past. I wasn't sure if it was a golden algae thing or river bottom sediment as the water flow was really good the entire trip.

Hey Copperhead...
Try putting in at the 180 bridge next time you're in that area. It always produces more than the PK area. More fish structure for the fish to live in/around. Up at PK, theres not quite as much structure for the fish to reside in large populations, plus the water is not quite as deep. Hope that helps!

Fished hard below the dam Sunday, caught nothing. Tried everything imagineable in the big pool between bridge & dam. Water was clear, no wind, little current.
