Cuda and Husky, we'll be out there tomorrow...midmorning. If you see some guys with scuba gear and a couple of yaks, stop and say hello.

Wheeler was windy Saturday, spent the whole morning fighting the wind, got 4 small bites but nothing to show for it. Couldn't stay on the holes where they were biting as the wind blew me away even with the anchor down.

I'll second that report for Wheeler Branch. We dove near the dam on Sunday afternoon, then my son and I fished for a couple of hours until around 7:30. Winds had the water a little turbid, so the visibility was not too great until about 30', where it cleared a lot. Pretty chilly below the thermocline, though, so we didn't stay that deep for long.
We managed a couple of fat largemouths fishing jig/worm rigged Texas style at about 10 or 12 feet, but the drift was fast and it was hard to stay in touch with the bait. We got some good exercise paddling back in against the brisk south wind.
There were a bunch of egrets roosting in trees on the northwest arm of the lake. I've not been near a bunch of them like that before, and their calls were a really unusual mix of growls, guttural gargling noises, and caws...cool stuff.

It would be cool to see some divers post underwater pictures of the fish at wheeler branch.
