My son and I got invited to fish on a co-workers private 20 acres private lake that is full of channel cats. My son and I caught about 40 of them. Anyway my son's rod and reel got pulled from his hsnds and went completely in the water. Luckly I was able to snag it with my rod before it sank. His rod and reel is the Shakespear Ugly Stick Rod and Reel (spin cast)Combo. I was wonder if there is anything special I need to do to keep it from messing up since it hit the drink?

Its freshwater so it should be fine. During the NTTC Lavon tournament our reals were frozen so we had to dip them in the water to unfreeze them.

Wash it in clean cold water and then blow it dry if you can! Hot water will melt the grease!
