I've been fishing several areas. Pretty much been staying within a hour or so drive from home lately. The Brazos, Trinity, Bosque, Nolan & Paluxy Rivers and the lakes nearby most everybody is familiar with. One of the great things about carp is they are pretty much everywhere and generally not pressured.

Why hate carp from a river? They are a bit more challenging to catch IMO, but they fight like demons. These were some of the best fights I've had in a long time. Blazing fast runs, deep into my backing every time.
