Extreme Edge kayak fishing ( www.extremeedgefishing.com) has recruited me to host freshwater fishing tourneys in Texas. We have great sponsors and goody bags (read: free lures, shirts, etc) lined up along with some great prizes. We will be bringing the tourneys to a lake or river near you. We have kept the entry fee down to get more folks involved. More info to come. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at EEFtexas@MSN.com. There are several catagories in the tournaments. These are CPR, catch, photograph and release tournaments. The cameras are provided by EEF. EEF currently holds national saltwater fishing tournaments from Florida to Texas.

I sent you an email. We can do that. We're lining up the tournaments now through the end of September. We just need local sponsors. We'll be hitting Conroe, Rayburn, Toledo Bend, Livingston, Canyon Lake, Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, etc. We'll be holding 3 or 4 a month.

It's a catch, photograph and release tournament. Keeping a fish is a disqualification. It's all artificial. No live bait or other kinds of bait are allowed so no need for a live well amigo. If you want to get on my EEF mailing list, email me at EEFTexas@msn.com suject: Mailing List.

Hey Bill the grass lands would be a good place. Its just west of Dallas but worth the drive.
Canoes, too, are unobtrusive; they don't storm the natural world or ride over it, but drift in upon it as a part of its own silence. (John Graves)

Marine Creek Lake would be a great place for a Yak Tourney. It is off 820 in Fort Worth. Perfect size lake and good fishing

Maybe consider San Angelo?
There are 2-3 different yak dealerships (BackBrush, Eurban Kayaks, and Field & Stream). Talk to the peeps there and I could see the word spread.
3 nearby lakes (Fisher, Twin Buttes, and Nasworthy). 2 inside an hours drive (Spence and Ivie). 3+ rivers (Concho, Dove creek, Middle Concho, Grape Creek, ect.).
That's quite a formula!

Now is the time to bid on locations. We'll be holding 2 or 3 tourneys a month at different lakes and rivers. If you know of folks that are potential sponsors in your area, give them my email addy and have them get in touch with me or give me their info and I'll call them. Sponsorship is usually the deciding factor. We have to have a place to hold the mandatory meeting on Friday evening and to conduct the weigh-in and Expo all day Saturday.
