Not sure if they would be BETTER but, in the right situation, I would imagine they could shine. Don't forget to throw a Sunfish pattern, had some success this morning on one. I would be throwing all 3 types and let the fish tell me what they want.

In the split second that a crankbait passes by a bass, I personally don't believe he has time to think "hmmmm, I'm going to destroy that crank because it's baby bass colored, and I'm going to let that shad color swim on by".

It's more about a reaction strike that color. Once you find them and they are bitting the crank the exact color doesn't matter much IMO. Bright colors in stained water and natural colors in clear water.

Bluegills have started to spawn, so if you are throwing shallow to 10' you might consider green & yellow with orange cranks or rattletraps.

I'm really impressed with the strike king 2.5 and 1.5... I have it in chart. black back... but I think sexy shad would be great... it's been a deadly bait for me so far..

right now in the post-spawn is a good time for a lot of different colors. The bass have just finished spawning and bream are currently spawning, so either of those patterns are good. Shad are also on spawn so you can't really go wrong with a shad pattern in the marinas.

Isn't this a great time for my bluegill crank to break?

This crank bait color seems to be catching some big ones.

That happened to my 14 year old a few days ago. Had to cut off the hook and push it through. He was not happy.
