I am picking up a Prowler 13 on Thursday and plan to install a Depth Finder on it. I will be generally using it in shallow water, 30' or less. I would like to hear any suggestions as to which Brands/Models anyone can recommend.

I really like the Cuda 168. Small enough for a kayak but sensitive enough to see a fish fart GaryA

Thanks Gary,
I am glad you are happy with your CUDA 168 and I hoped that was a good one. I think that will be my second choice. I am going to see if I can get a CUDA 240 S/GPS so I will have GPS if I can afford it. Otherwise it will be the 168.
I really liked your kayak. If I was smaller, that model you have might have been my choice of Kayak. The Prowler 13 seats better for a large man.

GARY-A can you tell me how you did the install on your fishfinder? or if you have pics that would be better, I was looking at getting one and then thought how I would mount it, power it, and then run the cable for it to the bottom? any suggestions on that would help out, not trying to jack your thread meadowlarks.
thanks Robert

Here is more info on the install Transducer install The battery is a 12V deer feeder battery mounted under the front hatch in a small camera type bag. I used an automotive connector so that I can take the battery out to charge it when I'm done fishing. GaryA

I bought a Hummingbird Matrix 17 for my Yak, it works well enough for me. I use a Cabelas battery that is 12V 7 amp.
