What would be a good price for this boat?

87 Starcraft 17'
70hp Yamaha 2 Stroke w/T&T
Comes with 2 fish finders
2 live wells
No leaks or known issues other that it has been sitting for about a year and wil need carbs cleaned

I need to be boat shopping in your area. 14' Jon boats w/8hp motors are going to 2.5-3K in my area.

Between 1500 & 3500 so about 2500 or all ya can get, start at 3500 and go from there hard to go up on price

1500-2000 MAX! And if it has been sitting that long there is probably a reason and they probably won't tell you...

I am not selling - I am a buyer at 2k. I have not found anything remotely close to it in that price range. I've seen the motor alone priced at $1995.

I have showed up to look at boats that have the floors rotted out for 3k. 80's Basstrackers are going for 3.5k and up - most not very well kept. 14x36 Jon boat w/ 8hp for 3k. Most of what I have looked at is trashed, overpriced and the owners are moving not much on there asking price.

This boat fit my needs perfectly and IMHO - is a GREAT buy at 2K compared to what the market has produced for me. I hope to be completing the deal this weekend.

I hope everything works out for you. But keep in mind if you cannot test drive it the motor is an unknown factor and can cost thousands to repair. If you could drive it and were sure everything works more than 2K might be a reasonable price. But you are taking a huge gamble on if the motor will just need the carbs cleaned and thats based on what the seller is telling you.

Listen to Team Brown, I bought mine without test driving and had to dump lots of money into her to make it run like it should. Which is fine but I would have paid even less to cover the repairs. be careful and remember if they say trust me - WALK AWAY, if they say they're getting tons of calls- WALK AWAY, they're hustling you.

I know you're pain with trash boats just went through it, most are trashed, I looked at 20 boats before buying mine.

Take it to a reputable repair guy and get his assessment. That could save a bunch of heartaches for a little money.

Also figure on an impeller and new lower unit oil. Not real expensive.

2k dont sound to bad. sure would want to bust her off and make sure it would run first though.

I'd go with $2000 and a good compression test . Also check under boat for cracks in the aluminum.
