on selling my champion, just thinkin about it to move up to a 20' and here is the deal.

I have an 82 186 (that is what I call it its actually 18'8" oa length) with a great 175 johnson on it with custom paint job. pulled the heads and replaced the thermostats last spring, there was still cross hatch in the cyls from the day it was built (I just wanted to replace the head gaskets so I could look at the cyls), very low hrs for its age. I have upgraded the engine with elect fuel pump (just put in a new one cuz I broke the old ones mount base), it runs like a scalded monkey and has 115 psi on all 6, all new fuel lines and bulb with 2 filters. never seen ethanol and had seafoam run about once every 4-5 tanks, run nothing but pennzoil full synthetic oil in it.
have 2 lower units one is on it and one is spare, had both rebuilt about 3 months ago, 2 24 raker props both B&B at the prop shop in okc. just did a seacast transom replacement, has dual bilges, 1 auto, 1 manual total of 2,000 gph. pumpout has been added with recirc, light in rear livewell and pump is 850 gph/new in 09. new 3 bank minn kota on board charger mk315.
all new guages in 09, new dual no feedback steering (complete replacement even the wheel), lighted compartments, new red led deck lighting added to what I already had in, new led bow running lights, new front base, post for butt seat, carpet was replaced in 09 (has a couple of small burns in it up front), added front deck and storage space, new tall windshield in 09, keelshield in 09, hull and cap are in excellent shape especially for its age, hydraulic 6" jackplate by cmc (built for allison by cmc), new bps highback seats last spring, new mg 75# trolling motor last spring, has 2 humminbird 717 finders, one in dash with transducer in bilge, and one at bow on ram mount, humminbird 797ci si on ram mount/external gps on metal antenna mount next to console (both ram mounts are the large ball type),has hydrowave on bow too, bow finder transducer and hydrowave are mounted on trolling motor. everything works perfectly with nothing needed at all.

may have left something off but can't think of what, sorry for the long post but needed to describe it to a T.

so tell me what do y'all think its worth. I will say that I think I have about 13,000.00 total invested in it and know I will never get anywhere that much out of it, I just like workin on and tinkerin with boats.

pics some are older, haven't taken many lately.

I have wanted that boat ever since you posted pics the first time. I just don't have the $$$. It's a beauty for shore. Makes me want to throw rocks at my Tracker.

As far as values, I can't help, but at 13k somebody is getting a steal.

IMHO, I would say 5-6K given todays economy and its age. No matter how much you do to it she will still be an 82. Mine is a 90 with 2 HDS units on it with a freshly built 97 2.5 and I don't think I could get much over 6 for it...

thanks for the compliments, am thinkin about listin it for 6,500.00-7,000.00 and see what happens, don't need to sell it just wanna move up to a bigger boat. with the electronics that are on it I think that is a fair price.

That sounds about right. I mean it is evident you worked hard to keep the boat in tip top shape unfortumatly that's the same thing everyone else selling a boat will say to potential customers too... Plus you know every person that looks at it will try to low ball you too...

i'm curious about that open exhaust port just above the cavitation plate, is that oem or custom fabrication?

both, it was on some of the performance omc engines, I ordered it and installed it. its an exhaust relief for better performance, it works. there are 2 plugs you can use to adjust it, 4 1/2" holes drilled into the exhaust. this boat is on plane in about 2-3 seconds or it seems that way.

I figure I can always adjust by taking off the 797 and hydrowave, that alone is about 1,500.00 replacement value. still thinkin about if I really want to sell it or not though.

You're in the ballpark on price. John Story would be proud to see a classic like that in that good of condition.

Hop I have been reading post here where you have been working on the Champ for a couple of years. I fixed up a 1984 350v Ranger and sold it 5 years ago. I still see my old boat here at Alan Henry pretty often and now wish I would`nt have been so stupid.

Yup, I mean you have one of if not the best rough water hull out there it runs good with a new composite transom. If it truly is in as good of shape as you say it is I cannot imagine how you could benefit from getting rid of it for a new project. Use it and enjoy it!

oh I will if no one will pay the price, provided I even put it up for sale.
got 4 models in mind and a 90-92 20' champ is top of the list.
couple of others that tff'rs have listed too.
