I am going to check out Ray Roberts this Sunday. I have heard some good reports of this lake from the Kayak folks. Is Buck Creek the way to go this time of the year? What type of tackle, ultra light spinning and fly rod is what I want to bring. Any help would be appreciated. Brace -Seal looking for your advice, you have posted on this lake in the past.

some of us float tube guys are fishing the back of Sand Branch. Take 455 out of Sanger and go across the dam. Turn left at the the first road past the State Park entrance. Go to the road forces you to make a right turn, then take the first left. This dead ends in a circular area with room for 5-7 trucks. It's a 30 yd walk to the water from there. This is a great area that has deep water very close by. If you look at a map of RayBob, it's the S/W part of Sand Branch and you're putting in just south (by 100 yds) of the road bed.

Well, I really could have used some help here. Did hit the lake around 9:00. I left early but forgot abouth the NASCAR race and was stuck in traffic and had to take back roads. Went up Buck Creek. It was not really a creek. When I hit the area that was creek like it was short lived. Had to get out and portage twice and got sick of the mud. No fish, no bites all day.

Wish I had read your post sooner. I would recommend putting in at any of the creeks. As for Buck Creek I would put in at the creek and paddle down stream to the lake. There is an area that is popular for bank fishing with easy access for Yaks. I wish I could be more specific, but I do not have my map here at work.

Just a note: If you plan on going again just give me a shout. I have been so busy as of late I have only been fishing 2 or 3 times since feb. I need to make the time or I'll end up missing the best time to go fishing.

Here is my home # if anyone wants to meet up at Ray Roberts, Lavon, or Grapevine...

I normaly fish Ray Bob, but I want to branch out to new areas.
