Maybe I should post this question in another area but I will ask the Yak guys. I fish with either fly rod or ultra light spinning gear. I just got a superlight set up which is a blast. Problem I have with the super and ultra light spinning reel is sometimes the line gets caught up in the drag spool opening and creates a mess. Is this the line, me casting funky, or just a common issue with ultra light gear? Any one else experience this mess?

I use a ultra-light rig with 4lb. test. If I try to put too much line on the spool I have the similar problems. You might just have too much line on the spools as well?!?
Just my toughts...

I agree with brace on that. I use a superlight a lot with 4 lb test. When I load it too ful, it seems like that happens all the time.
I also have to periodically "straighten" the line. I am not sure if that will make sense, but that light line seems to get twisted a lot. So, I let the river/ creek flow carry all my line out and then reel it back on the spool.

Same here, same fix. I also found that the longer the rod the more the line slaps the rod during casts. This friction seems to cause a kind of bottle neck at the first eye which makes the very light line back up. Still, the spool was overloaded.
