Guys/Gals,

Going to be headed up to limestone most likely in a couple of weeks for some family time at the lake, and was curious how the crappie fishing has been? We will be up in the far northern end, and it was almost completely dry up there last summer. Is it best to run down the lake, or can the Crappie be had up there? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Worst advice ever. Look for timber or brush in 10 to 20 feet and you should be good.

There are some decent areas on the north end of the lake. Try the mouth of Big Creek. There is better fishing to be had up around the mid and south part of the lake, but if it's windy at all it's no fun running down Stone. Bridge will hold some fish, but usually 90% dinks. Good luck!

Thanks guys! We will give it a shot! Would love to load the boat, but will have no problem catching dinks for a couple of hours.

Went saturday morning. I fished the south side of the lake it was terrible only caught four keepers. Last year this time we were catching limits not sure whats wrong. I fished in timber from 14-25 feet. Couldnt even give bait away. Good luck I might go again next weekend.

Camping on limestone this weekend, taking kids would love to get into some crappie or cats. Even if they are 90% throw back dinks, just want the kids to have fun and stay busy. Any help is appreciated.
