I too was stationed in Germany, Soegel to be exact, my unit scheduled a tour to go to one of the concentration camps. I couldn't go, didn't think I could contain myself emotionally. When the guys were on the bus coming back, they said there was a lot of crying and a prayers from all around. We did our share of what you would call tough guy or manly stuff, but to sit and reflect on that moment of history sobers. May God bless their souls.

My children's school had a teacher who would bring a survivor of a camp to talk to the kids. I would go to and listen to the man. It makes you realize just how bless you are. Big thanks to our service men and woman.

May the Good Lord bless you with a bend in your rod.

Ive been to plenty of places that most people dream of going and they honestly ruined the imagination and the tales of them in books due to being reconstructed or just completely fake. most castles dont even have the real knights armor. id say about 7/8 of the castles i went to the armor wouldnt fit my little brother at age 11. I have had fun while being here. especially getting to see different cultures and of course meeting women from all over europe but I doubt I will ever purposely come back.

I understand that. I am a World History teacher and I am looking forward to visiting some of the place I have taught about. My wife is was alo a History major. So, this is on our bucket list to do.

I visited Dachau back in 1992 on a trip there with my dad. He went to a show in Munich for 12 years and he took me when I graduated high school. I was on my own all day and then we would run around once he got off work. Took a day trip out to the camp and was amazed and in shock the whole time to be somewhere where those things had happened.

Awesome pictures, took a trip there 2 years ago with my school for a class. Looks a little different than when i went since when i went it was the middle of winter. But trust me, the feeling you get when you get there and are in those places is indescribable. Truly an emotional experience.

I visited the place back in 2000, I think. It was definitely an interesting place with lots of historical info. I remember still being able to smell death when I entered some of the rooms.

If you can get there. The Holocaust Museum in DC is something you will never forget. Very emotional
