Selling my Hobie Adventure fish model with the Mirage pedal drive. Purchased last Oct. from Mariner Sails. Have over $2200 invested with flush mounted compass, Eagle Cuda 240S fish finder/GPS in one unit installed with Ram ball mount and inside transducer. Has not been in salt water, used less than 8 times. Safety color orange. Comes with Mirage drive, padded high back seat, paddle, Scottie rod holder, etc. Located in Arlington, Tx. Price $1690.00 OBO pick up only. Home after 5:00 817-572-2708 or work 817-509-3027 during day. I will e-mail pics if interested. james.parker3 at comcast.net Lowering the price of this like new kayak to $1495.00. Without the depth finder/gps and without the Hobie cart wheels. Comes with Mirage drive, Hobie paddle, Hobie seat, Hobie soft cooler, and built in compass. If you need additional pictures, let me know. Excellent condition. Need a shorter model. This Hobie Adventure is 16 foot, very fast and can go and go hands free. If you haven't tried the Mirage drill, you need to experience this method of fishing and trolling.

BassFever, This one is the Fish model, sells for $1819.00 plus tax. Has extras including the model 240S depth finder/ GPS and compass. So retail is about $2200.00. Priced with extras about $500.00 less or about 23%. Without the depth finder and scupper wheels it still comes with some extras and would be much less that retail with tax. I do have extra kayak wheels I would furnish for the lower price and remove the depth finder and transducer.

BassFever, You should try one with the Mirage drive. After owning this one, I think it is the only way to efficiently fish down a bank and easily control the kayak. Particularily good in the wind or current. When I first got it I went to Lake Arlington and fished the dam with a south wind coming toward the dam about 15 to 20 mph. I was amazed that I could fly fish the dam and hold the boat off the rocks by slowing using the pedals to fish about 30 foot out crusing along the dam very slowly. Then I would turn around and go along the dam the other way. I also have a WS Ride that is very stable, but trying that with a paddle would not work. I would have been blown onto the dam quickly once I put down the paddle in the Ride. It is a great boat, just a little long. If I sell it I will buy the new 13 ft. Hobie Revolution.

You have to try the mirage drive to fully understand why it is such an advantage when fishing. The hands free aspect it provides cannot be duplicated in any other kayak. Only kayaks with the mirage drive allow you to fish 100% of the time even while moving up-wind or up-current. In addition your legs can provide way more power and stamina than your arms ever can, allowing you to cover a lot more water before fatigue may become an issue. And if you ever find your self several miles down-wind from your launch point in a steady 20+ mph wind you will really find out in a hurry why the mirage drives collect such a loyal following. I just can't see myself fishing out of another type of yak.

Butch, No, but I think that was Randy M. with a green Hobie Mirage Outback. I have fished with him many times and 1st tried his Outback when we were at the Colorado River State Park a few years ago. That was a big mistake as I then had to have the Mirage drive for the speed and ease of fishing hands free of the paddle. I live in s/w Arlington on Bellefontaine Dr. Off Green Oaks south of I20.

cool, see you at Lake A sometime. man it is tough staying in position sometimes. i live a couple of streets over from your buddy. Lake A is prime right now, not much traffic from the motor boats.

Butch, We (FWFF) are going to do the float trip this weekend 10/7 & 10/8 from Rochelle's at hwy 4 on the Brazos below P.K. Meet about 8:00 on the river or in Graford at 7:00 Saturday morning at the cafe. If you or anyone else wants to do this trip where we usually catch lots of fish let me know. It is an overnighter. You can peddle my Adventure kayak, but be forewarned you may really like it.

We use Rochelle's shuttle service, but last year we camped under the bridge and went upstream and caught some good fish. Don't know if there is enough water for a decent float trip. Anyone know?
