I would buy an Ardent reel they cast great very backlash forgiving and made in the USA. I would get and ardent.
One you build and fish with your own hand built custom rod you will fish with nothing else!

You can't go wrong with a Lews, Ardent, or Curado. The Lews has made some huge leaps with their performance to challenge the Ardent and Shimano reels IMO.

The lews are my favorites right now, and I've got smokes and sx/stx/premeir/winches in the boat too.
Get the tourney pro model

Basically any reel $100 or over. Research some, pick one out and go to the store and buy the next higher model. That's what I do. Works every time

A year ago I would have told you a Curado e7.
This year go with the Lew's.

Revo SX or STX, especially now as they are on sale for 129.99 or 159.99. Have money left for Braid or Fluro. plus 1
