Does anyone know of the closest places to go do some kayak fishing up in the Austin area?

Town Lake is a good place to go. There are places to drop in everywhere. The easiest one for me is at the Holiday Inn off of IH-35 close to down town. I think they will let you park there.
I never set a hook half-a**, when I set the hook, I rip the lip.
RIP THOSE LIPS!!!

If you want to fish further up the lake, there are put in accross from the baseball fields at Austin High school, and under the Mopac bridge. I used to put in a lot at red bud island - not sure if it is open anymore though (it was closed for a while a handfull of years back).
I really don't know were the fishing is best - so need to figure that out to see which put to use myself. I always suspect that fishing would be good in quite a few spots.
