I fish a private pond frequently. It holds some really nice fish. Saturday, I decided to take my family with me to bream fish. These fish prefer hotdogs over any other kind of bait. The family caught lots of bream of various sizes. 5 largemouth were also landed...on hotdogs.

Fast forward to last night. I went to another part of the pond to do some bass fishing. I like to fish with a mojo rig with really light line. I catch a few, but I noticed something a little odd. I had to hop the weight off the bottom a little due to the grass. Well, the fish started hitting the weight. I had several follow it up close enough to shore that I could see it. No interest in the worm. Fixated on the weight. I moved to another little area that has a bit of grass on the bottom. Same thing. My line starts going off to the side. Set hook. Nothing. So I tried a wacky worm. No weight. No more hits.

Anyway, strange fish. Hotdogs and lead.

Actually thinking back, my son Brax has caught several 2-5 pounders on hot dog weenies when he was trying to catch the cats.

That's kinda what I thought. The kids caught 5 keeper bass on hotdogs off the dock. I may have to try a carolina rigged hotdog on grapevine this weekend.

ROFL. Best Idea Ever. Now wait til saturday and post you caught 30 keepers on a c rigged hotdog and watch for The Great Texas Hotdog Shortage of 2012.
