Nope. There is NO sense in driving metal bars into stumps. That's the stupidest thing to mark a stump I can think of. There is NO logic to this. Use a three dollar buoy. Go get an orange kick flag. ANYTHING BUT REBAR!!! Some people have absolutely no consideration. I'll make the news if I catch em one day.

Drove over a stump at fork with rebar in it. (boat was 2mo old) 3k later I was back on the water. It's pure laziness. A piece of PVC cut to a point will drive into just about any stump. another option are the flags that you see on the back of kids bicycles. Those are fiberglass and will also make a good marker as they will flex/bend if run over. I just don't get it?? Lazy sorry excuse for a person to use rebar.

When it rusts off an inch above the stump you have a stump with a spike in the top. That will open up aluminum or fiberglass like a can opener.

When possible, I pull every piece of re-bar I come across, old t-posts as well.

Metal can-openers planted on the lake should be against the law.

If you tried to re-bar every stump on Fork or Palestine, both lakes would look like giant pin cushions. bang

My brother-in-law hit one trying to get on plane at Roberts, $5300 later... up Indian where that Orange cone sits in the tree just before the little cut on the right. I see people blaze thru there all the time too.

I pulled one out today that was close to
Where I was fishing. It was hot rolled steel, so they spent quite a bit driving them into the stumps. It also had red tape on it so that prolly means there has never been any PVC on them.
