I was out with my son Saturday afternoon running a few jug lines on the north shore of Lake Grapevine in some out of the way coves. I went back Sunday afternoon and noticed that a good number of my special made tip up rigs were gone.
It is a cryin shame when I can't do something like this with my son without some worthless SOB taking someone elses stuff.
If they happen to have had the fish taken off of them and dumped the jugs somewhere else in the lake, they are white PVC with some pink pool noodle foam on them. My name and address are clearly on them with the date put out of 5/12.
Any help anyone could provide would be appreciated.
I'm glad I live in such a wonderful place.

Damn shame. Some folks have to steal other folks fish cuz they cant catch them on their own! Good luck finding your noodles.

Could have been the Game Warden that took them up because they were not legal. TPWD regulations state that they must be white. I'll keep a look-out for some pink jugs the next time I'm on GV.

If a GW would have taken them... dont you think he would have taken all of them? And the fella would probably be getting contacted as his name and address were on them.
Its a shame you cant trust anyone these days.

matt They were not all set in the same place so if they didn't find them all, they couldn't take them all. They were put out on Saturday and missing on Sunday and no phone number listed on the jugs, just name and address. Last time I checked, the mail doesn't run on Sunday either. Could have been some random low life thief as well.

24 hours is a long time to leave jugs out and not check them.

Someone on Grapevine is stealing and runninig jugs this year. I know mine that have been left out over nite have been run. I have had several that have come up missing and turn up in a certain Marina. My jugs are legal and placed 4 miles from that Marina. Weights from 1lb to 10lb. Never had a problem until this year. Sooner or later will catch the fools and will deal with it.

The foam usually amounts to 80% of the color seen at least.

Was just hoping with all the guys beating the shore in the bass contest on Saturday afternoon that someone would have possibly seen something. There were a lot out of boats on the north end of the lake. I searched from east of twin coves to pretty close the the west end trees. Shoreline through mid lake.
I could see one or two missing that a 30+ lber found, but there were actually 5 taken. It's not the couple of bucks each that they cost me, it's the principle...I despise a poaching thief.
By the way, they are white...with some pink foam on them. Rather not get into this discussion. If TPW wants to discuss it with me, that's their business. My name and address are clearly out there.
It more the principle of people trying to enjoy some fishing and our lakes. Trying to show their kids a good time outdoors and dealing with others out there that have no regard for anyone but themselves. Hopefully the rest of the honest people out there can put a stop to them once in a while.
I'll get off my soap box now.
