A place I have always dreamed of visiting, especially with a history degree. About 15 years ago in my US History class I had a German exchange student. After I taught WWII he asked to let him teach the German view, very interesting!!

Yal are welcome. sorry there isnt more pic's. big red.... europe isnt the funnest place to a country boy. paris and berlin are disgusting no hunting no fishing unless u wanna learn the language, go to a class and pay 2000euro for each license. ive learned enough to get by ordering food, drinks and basic conversations but between deployments it was hard to keep up with the language and learn more. Ive been to plenty of places that most people dream of going and they honestly ruined the imagination and the tales of them in books due to being reconstructed or just completely fake. most castles dont even have the real knights armor. id say about 7/8 of the castles i went to the armor wouldnt fit my little brother at age 11. I have had fun while being here. especially getting to see different cultures and of course meeting women from all over europe but I doubt I will ever purposely come back.

Just wait until you visit Auschwitz. There were nearly 1.5 million people killed at that place.
Speech (paraphrased) given by Obersturmfhrer Franz Hssler to a group of Greek Jews in the undressing room shortly before the group was led into the gas chamber to be killed:
"On behalf of the camp administration I bid you welcome. This is not a holiday resort but a labor camp. Just as our soldiers risk their lives at the front to gain victory for the Third Reich, you will have to work here for the welfare of a new Europe. How you tackle this task is entirely up to you. The chance is there for every one of you. We shall look after your health, and we shall also offer you well-paid work. After the war we shall assess everyone according to his merits and treat him accordingly."
"Now, would you please all get undressed. Hang your clothes on the hooks we have provided and please remember your number [of the hook]. When you've had your shower there will be a bowl of soup and coffee or tea for all. Oh yes, before I forget, after your bath, please have ready your certificates, diplomas, school reports and any other documents so that we can employ everybody according to his or her training and ability."
"Would diabetics who are not allowed sugar report to staff on duty after their baths".
They often played music as well to calm people.

Thanks for sharing. I'm in the middle of reading the Nuremberg Trials. Funny how all are blaming each other in the book or saying they didn't know it was happening. Very sad

over 5,800,000 jews were murdered during that season of history, a travesty unlike any other in history.
For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all menthe testimony given in its proper time.- 1 Timothy 2:5-6

You should read the exodus and QB7 by Leon Uris. Both are awesome.

I spent my birthday there, back in the seventies with my mother. It does look different from what I remember. Actual pictures of the human experiments carried out, like decompression causing the brain to burst out of the head and such. Among the most horrifying experiences of my entire life. My mother insisted, as she firmly believed that those that do not learn history are indeed doomed to repeat it. Something I'll carry with me the rest of my life.
