made my second trip to fayette yesterday, and that lake will ruin you. started fishing around 6 am and quit and 3 pm and caught 62 bass and 1 catfish. two biggest were 5.24 and 4.74, heavy five would have weighed somewhere around 19-21. that lake is unbelievable. the shallows and the reeds were and stayed full of the little male fish all day, but i eventually started fishing different areas trying to find some bigger fish. will definitely be back on monday once the weekend crowd is gone.

Did you have better luck in the reeds or out? I frogged the reeds all day Saturday and did well enough to not leave and try some where else. Plus, I have always been addicted to frogging. Didn't catch anywhere close to 62 though. That means I would have to get about 620 bites. LOL

I caught more fish in the reeds/edge of reeds early, and they stayed fairly steady throughout the day. I was using a weightless senko, a jerk bait, and a trigged tequila sunrise worm. But, it seems like all the fish I was catching that shallow were all little 1.5-2lb male fish. So I went and started t-riggin' the stickups, and threw a c-rig on some of the drop offs. Out there I managed to catch more quality fish. how was the crowd out there yesterday? maybe 15-20 boats or so on friday.

Actually for a Saturday, the boats were not bad. Maybe the Friday night / Saturday morning storms kept them home. Actually, I woke up at 4am and went back to sleep myself due to the rain and lightning. Left the house when it cleared and didn't start fishing til about 9:30. I actually had all solid fish around the reeds. Didn't catch any less than 2lbs and had 3 pushing 5. Almost all the ones I caught were around uprooted reeds floating and blown up against the bank. The bass were waiting under them. I had started the day with a crank bait in 15' and caught 2 in the 1st 30 minutes until I got hung up and lost it. That is when I headed to the reeds
