John as usual this was a great event. You encourage this to be a family event and they really come out this year. The Hubbard guys had their families with them but there were other men from different lakes that brought there families with them as well. I know it takes a lot of your personal time to put this event on and you do a great job at it, THANKS AGAIN. Lunch was excellent again this year. Thanks to Jim who coordinated dinner and seen that everything went well. The food was great, brisket, egg rolls, shrimp, salads, beans, I was stuffed when I left. For everyone that brought food or supplied help in any, THANK YOU. I know John was thrown a curve ball by Chandlers marina this year but Harbor Bay was an excellent location to have this event, everything as far as I could tell went smoothly and actually turned out better. I do not know if some of the local Harbor Bay boys had any help in scheduling this but if you did, THANKS. For everyone that donated door prizes this year and you guys are listed on John's post, THANK YOU for getting involved in this event. And finally for all of the Hubbard guys and gals that were there, it was great to see everyone together, meeting your families, swapping phone numbers. I hope everyone is able to make it again next year and I look forward to seeing all of you guys on the lake.

WOW! A record turn out (27 boats) for this 7th Annual TFF Lake Hubbard Sandbass Tournament at beautiful Harbour Bay Marina! Thanks to you ALL this record breaking tournament was a huge success at its brand new location, Harbour Bay Marina!! There were some new faces to greet and meet and it was good to see some old faces as well. Thanks to all the prize donors and congratulations to all who fished this popular event. There were a bunch of kids, 4 of which were in Erics boat. Congrats to Eric on that bonus big ol hybrid catch as well! As usual that much food couldnt have happened for this many people without some much needed assistance from many of the local Ray Hubbard fishing men and women. With prices going up these days on many food items, its always a good thing when many of you can pitch in and help get it done, especially from you who provide assistance each year. Many thanks go out to: >Champion Fish (Gene) and his wife for providing all the eating utensils >JacksonBean and wife for the pot o beans (I think JV has your pot) >SeaPro Todd and wife and Fishboy Frank for deep frying the always totally awesome egg and shrimp rolls >Team CONDOR for the rolls >Luv to fish (Mike) with his wife and Don the Angler for the potato salad and macaroni salad >Charlie Taylor and wife for the deviled eggs >Filletmaker and Proline19 for assisting with the purchase of the briskets/bbq sauce >And last but not the least a big Thank you! to Harbour Bay Marina and staff for hosting this event! What an awesome facility! They also have several areas cordoned off for fishing from their docks. I know where Ill be doing some spring crappie/bream fishing next season! I can tell you that smoking brisket before the event allowed several of us to enjoy the prize presentations and comraderie versus fish frying which has to happen real time. Well take a vote next year for a fish fry (Harbour Bay will have to approve an on-site spot for the cookers which will probably have to be several hundred feet away from the meal site), bar-b-que, or another option open to your suggestion. Two smokers going in the back yard 3 briskets on the Brinkman w/remote chamber temp and meat temp thermometer (don't need one on the upright Weber) All of this could not have happened without the dedication and leadership of John Varner. Ive known and fished with John since 2001 and watched his love for the sport of fishing and introducing others to the sport of fishing grow magnificently over these last 11 years through the biggest and best fishing forum in the world, the Texas Fishing Forum. JP Greeson (Godfather of the TFF and THF and several other fishing forums) has been a huge influence on many of us on this forum, always improving and gradually adding to his list of forums. Hes shown many of us how to organize and successfully operate fishing tournaments. The annual Ray Hubbard Sandbass tournament is the most successful. Time to start thinking about next years annual tournament and again answering the call to participate in your own way.

Great posts, Redfin Jim and all!! I am truly blessed to be a part of the event yesterday! A perect day! Had a blast!! Thank you JV! Thank you to all the sponsors for the awesome prizes! Thank you Jim and everyone who donated time and food. The briskets were killer, moist and GOOOD! It was a lot of work putting it all together!! Great meeting all the new buddies and seeing the old ones again Congrats to the top 4 winning teams!! I always look up to you guys when it comes to CATCHING!! I am a fan!! A few pics from us: We were in the right place at the right time when the monster hybrids were schooling around us, popping huge shads out of the water!! These monsters made David and I forgot about the tourney and it was very twok like!!! More reason for us to get our times and brains together to stock more hybrids, right Jackson....with your BEATUFUL double digit hybrid yesterday?? Thanks to Frank, David, and the Dr. Whiplash Shark for assisting with the eggrolls. LOL!

Yes it was a great time. Thanks to all. Next year if more people show up we might have to think about having the weigh in on dry land or we might sink the dock!

Gene- JV called me one day and asked about Harbor Bay being the possible site of the tournament. So I set up a meeting and JV and I met with Elizabeth the manager. She was on board but said the owner likes to keep tournaments to a minimum. In speaking to Elizabeth yesterday she said we can call this a tenant "get together." So Austin, Paul all of us at HB that's what it will be! We ought to be good to go next year. I think JV has some new friends in Elizabeth and Joe. Elizabeth said yesterday all I want is one of those Team Catfish hats! So guess who gave their hat up to her yesterday? None other than the ladies man Ray!

Elizabeth the manager was fine with me setting up the fryers out by the grass for the egg rolls. I vote for brisket and fish and next year! That brisket was the bomb. My brother managed a Kroger's meat market for 20+ years and is now a Union Rep. for them. We had a fish fry party last night for a nephew who is in town and my brother taste tested a piece of the brisket. He fancies himself as a great barbecuer and he really is. He said tell whoever cooked this great job! Nice meeting you and thank you for all the hard work in preparing and smoking the briskets.....

JV can't say much more than has been said already! I don't think you could have more grown men not sleeping a wink than you did Friday night. I think Terry may have tried sleeping in his boat- in his shark outfit LOL! The anticipation was surely great, the results were greater. For the weather conditions being what they were weather wise we had some amazing catch results. This is my 2nd year to participate and it seems to be getting bigger and better. I think we all are getting bigger as the once floating dock will testify! But personally I'm all about the fellowship. Sure everyone wants to win but we are all winners. Winners because we get to put faces with the Forum names. And winners because we all have a fraternity and a bond that you can't find many places these days. Thanks for all your hard work. It all begins with you. And it ends with Gene winning! Perfect day all. Perfect day...

Spoke to Jackson yesterday and will get it back to him....
