Has anybody else used this reel? Just picked one up this week with a Fenwick Eagle GT casting rod. Spooled up with 15 lb Spiderwire stealth line. I've caught a few decently sized bass with it, one 18 incher yesterday. Fights the bass great. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a nice quality reel at around 65 dollars.

Have not used the Silver Max but have had a Black Max a couple of years and like it a lot. I have seen it posted that all 3 in this series (Black, Silver, Pro) are decent reels, especially for the money.
In memory of my childhood friend Dan Sterling, who taught me at an early age how to catch bream with a hand-line, and who unknowingly hooked me on fishing for life.

I have a Silver Max. Most of it is plastic/graphite and it sounds that way in use. It performs well though.

I think the Sliver and Black Max a good reels for the dollars, definitely not top notch but not everyone can afford a 100-200 dollar reel. I have a couple and are very dependable, these reels were re-designed in the past year or two so the new ones are even better.

I have two silver max reels. One I have been using for several years and I just bought another one a week or so ago. Great reels for the money!
