I'm headin up to Montana to work for a few months, most likely 4 months.

I've loved catchin lmb, crappie, sandies, hybrid, catfish, warmouth, etc for about 14yrs.

What i hope is I'm able to fish up there for Pike, Walleye, Trout, Salmon, Muskie!! or any other kind of fish that we don't have here.

If I'm able to catch anything I will for sure post it on the forums!

Hope everyone has a great summer catchin fish and no one gets hurt!

Where are you going to be in Montana?

And I hate you for getting to spend the summer months up there. You are going to miss our wonderful summer heat. I was up there back in 2009 in August and it was 72-75 the whole time we were there.

There's no place in the world like Montana and Wyoming. We went to Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks a couple times when I was a kid. I always said I'd never leave Texas, but if I ever did, there's no doubt that's where I'd go.

Lots of cold clear creeks, perfect for trout fishing. Rainbows, cutthroats and browns mostly. If you're in the Northern part of the state then make sure you check the critters out. The big bull elk are awesome. Stay away from the moose, they have an attitude problem as well as the wolves, cougar and bear. Sounds like a fun adventure.

Great luck to you sir. Always fun to expand the knowledge given and take new steps for a different breed. Hope you stay in touch and can post many trophies for us to salivate over. Safe travels.

A different kind of fishing up there. Check your regulations, some of those states have places where you can't use barbs on hooks etc.

Sidney, Monatana

There's the yellowstone river and a dam somewhere within 15 miles I believe, all I know about dams is monster fish!

It's gunna get hot where I'm gunna be cause I'm not gunna be in the mountains..

Will do, I was salivating over the hybrid I caught, I can't imagine a 40" Northern Pike!!

Take time to see the battle of Little Big Horn. It'll be about 2 hrs west of you but it's worth it. Great National Park.
