So I have been out there once and nothing but a couple of little croaker caught (my little one had a blast so that was fine). I am taking Monday off and have a questions. Where do you fish rollover? Bay side, surf side, or in the surf near the pass? I know fishing is good all over the area in general but wanted to see what everyones thoughts were. Would like to get the surf rod out for some bull reds and keep the smaller rod out for trout. I have Monday off so hoping it wont be nearly as crowded as it was the last time we went.

Thanks!

This monday is not the best day for fishing at ROLLOVER PASS because water are slow moving .The best fishing is about early afternoon.
In the morning try to fish very close with the gulf (outgoing tide ) maybe you can catch some specks and red fish.Or in the bay side maybe you can catch some flounder.
When the incoming tide start is better to bee on the bay side about 100feet from bridge(any side of the channel) because if the water have no sea weeds you can catch specks on soft bait,or specks and red fish on live bait.

Good luck!!!

Thanks Jean. An update from the Rollover Master himself. Anyone know how the seaweed is? Last time I was out it was to bad to fish. Maybe some surf fishing is due.

Maybe you can catch some speckled trout, because i see today some fishermen's was catching 6lb-7lb speckled trout at ROLlOVER PASS.
I am not sure, maybe i am going to fish Monday at ROLLOVER PASS because all week the water don't move right for fishing and tomorrow the water move little better.

Wouldnt expect to catch bull reds. Could happen but chances r slim.
Expect see weed. Might have to move to a spot that's not thick w weed.
Nice trout r being caught. Good luck.

Still debating if I want to drive that far or just hit the jetties on Galveston. If you see a silver jeep with black doors thats me.

I am not "ROLLOVER MASTER, I am just average fisherman, but i am fishing little different, with long rods( over 10), and because i like finesse fishing.
Sometimes i catch fish, sometimes not, but if the fish are in the channel and another catching for sure i catch to using just artificial baits.
If somebody was catching specks today maybe is not so many sea weeds.
On the jetty in Galveston, must be the same dirty water, but at ROLLOVER PASS the outgoing tide bring, not very clear water, but good for fishing.

I already decided to go fishing tomorrow at ROLLOVER PASS.

If it's not qualified for master level, I'm not sure what is laugh
