Lavon Report: Lake was glass this morning. Not a sight I have seen in awhile. Crappie were still at 13-15 ft biting jigs and minnows. When the wind hit, they shut down.-or did we? The sandies were everywhere and easy to catch. Fun morning. Fished for sandies, then crappie, then sandies, then crappie.......ect.

Round II: Same thing. Most were at the plant. They schooled up for about an hour outside of the plant. Found them there, the cut, Rail Road- in the ditch and on top of the rock pile there and a few on the pylons. Side scan is your friend a lot of the time. Slabs didnt work very well. Small jigs of any color, like crappie jigs were and have been the key. Topwater when schooling, 4 inch Zara Spooks keep the babies off (most of the time). (And to whom ever called the Game Wardens on me today. Nice try. He was pissed he came out there for that call. Be sure you have the facts str8 before you waist our Game Wardens time) Small rattle traps ad jig/bobber with an Albino Tiny Fluke by Zoom, were the main fish catchers today. I miss counted on the second trip and we kept 48..... No clue how many were boated today, didnt try and count.....Lots.

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

I have fished with carey and from my experiance carey would not violate any regulations. He typically does not even keep fish under 12" but when you fish with him you will catch plenty of fish that do not need to be measured. I am trying to arrange a trip with tarponfly early next week if anyone is interested in spliting a trip with me just put up a response. I booked a trip several weeks ago and my "luck" improved significantly.

Why would someone call the game warden on you? Maybe they were jeleous that your clients catch so many fish. What was there claim anyway, I read all your post and you spend more time mentoring and giving good invormation than any other guide on this board so I would be shocked that you were in violation of any regulation. They obviously don't know anything about how you conduct your business.

Just plain ridiculous. Carey Thorn is a top notch guide that cares about fishing in every way.
