I took the tube out for the first time tonight under the 35 bridge. This is some seriously fun stuff. There were two guys on the bank (where I always fish) that were there for longer than I was and they caught nothing. I caught seven. Heck yeah. It was a lot of fun! I had never even tried in my pool and I was a little tense at first, but it all worked out. The only problem was that they would only hit the smaller minnows so I spent a lot of time just fishing around in the bucket for the right size. Anyway, it was a blast and the $34.99 (half price White River U Tube) made all the difference between fish and getting skunked...good luck!

Tex,
Welcome to the club, sir! Watch out--if you do it too much, you won't want to go out in a boat ever again. Mine has been sitting idle for over a year now! How do you like the new tube, btw? I pointed another newbie to that one on the BPS website last week, and I was just wondering what you thought about it.

Nice report. It is good to see a new tuber have a good first trip. Eventually you will get the chance to outfish some people in boats. It feels really good to catch a few fish from a tube in front of two guys getting skunked in a $35,000 bass boat.
You might also want to try the Little Elm bridge for crappie, I hear it can be productive.

Thanks guys...Lester, I was fishing for crappie. I really think that if I had just small minnows it would have been much more productive because it was obvious out of the 24-30 I bought only the smallest 10 got any hits. About the tube...I have nothing to compare, but I like it a lot. I have two large pouches to hold more than enough gear and plenty of loops to have a minnow bucket, 15ft tie up rope, and stringer. There is nothing to complain about that I can think of. Good luck...
