Alright i recently purchased an 18 foot Lowes v hull boat. it has a 2006 70hp engine and runs beautifully. i wanted to give it some time to prove itself on the water before putting money into fixing it up cosmetically.
my main question is what is the best marine carpet brand to purchase? I am trying to steer clear of the kits I have heard they are not worth the money and dont make things much easier.
a few other questions while I am at it... Has anyone ever tried the camo vinyl wraps? i will be using this boat for duck hunting as well and dont know if paint or the wraps would hold up better.
finally what are some of yall's personal favorite seats for all around comfort. not looking to spend a ridiculous amount of money on those.
Thanks, Jake

I used lowes (lumber store) outdoor in my champion, about 4 yrs later still looks great, dirty but great. advice, use contact cement to stick it (put heavy paper between carpet and deck to position then pull paper as you place it). as to seats I tried 3 sets of cheap seats before I broke down and spent money on bass pro hi backs, worth the money imo. these are 125.00 ea. but my back appreciates the ride.

I'll second the Lowes outdoor stuff. I'll be recarpeting my boat in a few weeks with it. I've already carpeted the trailer with it and I couldn't tell any different between it and the samples I got from various carpet suppliers online.

alright i appreciate that advice! do i need to put down any sort of rubber padding or anything first or just glue the new carpet straight to the bottom? I am assuming that lowes has carpet glue as well

If you are taking the time to do it, do it right and install the pad under the carpet. You can get it really cheap at closedcellfoams.com
Like said above, use the contact cement for installation, just make sure when you put it in place it's where you want it. Not any wiggle room with the cement. And whatever carpet you decide on, get the rubber-backed carpet and at least 20oz.
Oh ya, get ready for lots of scraping to do it right, the prep work is key!
