Lake Conroe , there should be tournaments held on this lake. Lots of catfish. I fish it on a regular basis, it is my home lake.

I would say the channel cat fishery in most lakes is underated. However, a lake's fishery and potential can be and typically is a lot better than realized by the general public. TPWD provides resources for lake surveys and provide data for comparing populations, growth rates and average sizes of fish in each lake. Just because we don't hear or read a lot about various lakes doesn't mean the fishing isn't good. I've been itching to get out and give those channel cats at Monticello a shot sometime.

Let's not forget Ray Hubbard. Very under rated or more like Bobby-Cat says, they are just not mentioned. Seen a lot of big cats come out on a consistent basis. You can go just about anywhere in that lake and catch catfish.

I would have to say Lake Corpus Christi between Corpus and San Antonio and then Lake Wood out side of Gonzalas. Both of these lakes have produced many hours of good channel and blue cat action.

I'll second that, I grew up with the Trinity as my backyard just South of Dayton. I've both caught and seen caught some MONSTER fish out of there. Blues pushing 90+, Flatheads 80+ at least 4-5 times a year on trotline and thousands of fish between 10-30 Lbs. Shad shad shad shad, and oh, fresh shad. Live shad 6"+ for the flatheads.

Did I mention the best bait on the Trinity is shad?
