 2 hds5s with lss1 deal or no deal need help here

I found two hds5 at a local dealer with lss gen 1 1400 for all of it is this a good deal or do I need to keep looking would rather have a seven and five but poor folks got poor ways don't know anything about the side scan thing whats better hummingbird or lowrance any help would be great thanks

$1400 is about normal for a retail store but you can find them much cheaper if you look on the internet.

$1400 for 2 HDS 5 Gen1 and a LSS-1 is a heck of a deal!!! Especially if they are new in box and can be registered for full warranty and qualifies for the $100.00 mail in rebate on each unit and the $150.00 mail in rebate on the LSS-1 until 5/31/12.

Lowrance is better. It's a pretty good deal. Not a "steal" IMHO, but pretty good if it comes with full warranties.
If you really want the 7, I'd buy a 7 and the LSS-1 and try to find a used 5 later on. I think the used market for gen 1 HDS units is about to get pretty good, considering the gen 2's are going to be the most popular, and a lot of folks will be upgrading from gen 1's.

That's an excellent deal, I too would prefer the 7/5 or better yet 8/5 combo but 1400 bucks is enough to make me go 5/5. I currently have 7/5 and now I want to change up to an 8 BUT, the 7 works so I deal with it lol. I can still make out detail on the 5 up front but it's much easier on the 7.
