I have read through most of this main topic and still cannot figure out what tube fishing really is. If someone has a pict to post of a tube fishing craft or can explain it to me that would be great. This is something that I might be interested in if the cost is not too much to get started.

Ask and ye shall receive! I'm including two photos, one round tube and one U-Tube. Both are available at BassPro. http://www.basspro-shops.com/servl et/c...arTarget=browse http://www.basspro-shops.com/servl et/c...arTarget=browse Just click the highlighted text and another window will pop up with the page from the BPS catalog. You can buy the tube, fins and an air pump for less than a C-Note. Waders will be good while the water temp is still low, and they'll run $69-$150 depending on brand and quality. Another hint.... I just noticed that I'm not seeing all the posts on that are normally here. Look at the drop down window on the right, from the main tube page. change it to show all posts from the last 100 days. There are lots of informative type posts from when the page first started and everyone was swapping info more than talking tourneys! Kelly

doesn't cost too much to get started. But like anything, you can go overboard.
Buy a pair of flippers, a tube, and you're set! Under $100 to get started. Lot's of good tubing lakes around. Shallow coves on the larger lakes are good right now for catfish and crappie.

Lawki, I'll say this, too. I have an old Skeeter bass boat and a couple of tubes. Unless I'm going out on a lake with really restricted access, I prefer my tubes over my boat. You will not find a more relaxing, exciting way to fish. You haven't lived until a 7 pound bigmouth spins you in circles as he tows your belly boat around! I think I fish better, too. I tend to run-and-gun a bit too much when I'm in the boat. A tube allows, even requires you to fish a spot more thoroughly. You will have to get used to casting from one, setting a hook with less leverage, and having bluegills nibble on your leg hairs in the summer. You should definitely give it a shot, though.
By the way, Oshman's had several pairs of waders advertised on clearance this week. You might want to check that out.
Fish hard!

Yes, there is a seat made out of the same nylon denier fabric as the tube cover. It's about 14-16 inches deep (depending on model) and most have a strap from the front of it that buckles to the bottom of the tube (if round) or the crossbar on a U-Tube. That holds up the front of the seat. They are much more comfortable and stable than that description implies! Kelly
