That's up to the store to hire and pay for. It's not something city counsel would have any input on.

Go here and enter in the address for the BPS in Garland. Extend the time line to the maximum. The information is readily available. You can see a nice map with all of the reports right at BPS.

I would suggest you don't just show up with stories, but present facts as in those crime reports.

The true stories help to make it more personal, but the real facts carry the weight.

Just one more cast!

I guess I got lucky. They broke into my truck 3 months ago, but they did not still the truck just a cell phone and a box of wine.
2002 Ford f250
The cop asked if I shopped here often. I said yes about once a month. He said I was lucky it had not happened before. He said they target Fords because they are easy to get into. Just a screw driver in the keyhole.

Same thing happened to me at the Heritage Trace shopping center in Fort Worth. I've got a 2004 f150. They tried to punch the key hole out with a screw driver and steal my navigation unit, but my alarm scared them off. These guys either have big ca hones or they are just plain stupid (I suspect the latter), because they do this cr@p in the wide open parking lot, during the middle of the day.

Tip to you ford guys, you can avoid this potential break in by changing to a strictly keyless entry setup. You just need to replace your drivers side door handle with a passenger handle.

It, and the boat ramps are a target rich enviroment for the punks. They know folks go in there and piddle and look and will be there for at least 20 minutes, it doesn't take very long to go through a truck looking for stuff and even less if they want to steal the truck. Them cartels in Mexico love the f250's and f350's.

Do you expect the police dept to rat on themselves and make it look like they are doing a bad job. The problem with that area is it is no man's land. I drive 30 almost every day. I never see Garland PD and rarely see any PD at all. I would not expect the Garland PD to say one word about how out of control the crime is in the garden spot of Garland.

now with that, the question is,do you think telling a city councilman will do any good..

What is BPS doing to harden their target?

Surely they're aware of this problem and need to do something to protect their brand, reputation, and ultimately, sales! hmmm

It's just amazing that BPS dosen't address this issue. Maybe they have and can't justify the expense. All it takes is one person to get hurt and then you will see change.

Criminals get greedy and "they will be back" to steal more vehicles.

BPS will do nothing ! They know about the problems and several employes have there stuff stolen and broke into and they feel that cannot say nothing or they would loose there job. Now that is not right. Here is the deal... if you know about the problem and do nothing then you to are part of the problem !! Until a class action law suit is filed against BPS nothing will change.

The crazy thing is they took the time to torch my trailer tounge off my boat that was hooked up and loaded with all my gear that was worth way more than my 99 silverado. I was absolutely floored at 430 am when I woke up I woke up damn near the whole block that morning

Two ways to deal with the problem. (legal anyway)

1. Organize a protest at BPS and notify the news media beforehand, have a spokesperson, and be sure and ask the media to get a comment from BPS. BPS will respond. The local store will file a report to the headquarters.

2. Organize a group to go to a city council meeting and each person speak to the council during the public comment time. Again there will be media coverage from the newspapers. It won't do a lot of good if only a couple of speakers make comments, needs to be 10 or more.
