Hi guys, I had been float tub fishing for six years when I was in Ohio. I enjoyed it very much. When I came to Texas, I would like to do the same. However, I saw a fishing magazine having a photo of a big allegator in Lake Fork. Since I do not know the water of Texas, I wonder if it is safe to do float tubing in this state? Could you guys give me some ideas? Thanks

Edd, I've been tubing a long time and never had a "incident", however, common sense goes a long way. I have tubed in Fork several times and I did have a "log" (gator?) follow me one evening, I left the area, better safe than eaten I always say. I also tube at night during the summer and have had some mystery swim by's , been splashed by beaver and mistaken for a log by turtles but nothing serious. The biggest question I get from other anglers who don't tube is "What about snakes?" Snakes are simply another form of protein,I ignore them generally and they ignore me as well. Feel free to drop me an e-mail anytime, I'm always up for a fishing trip.

Edd - be careful of Fishin'Addict pretending to be an alligator - I heard him imitate an alligator mating call...
I'm more concerned about stinging insects and spiders...I've been tubing a long time and If you do see a snake that makes you uneasy - some loud splashing will spook anything, including Trophy Bass. Unless of course he's one of thos TeXas snakes - then you'll have to say "howdy" and all that 'cause you don't want to offend a TeXas snake.
...it's a lot of Fun
