Use circle hooks...drop your mortality down to almost zero. CandR'ed 25 plus 5-8 pound Hybrids Sunday AM. Didn't draw blood on one of 'em, all lived.

Circle hooks dont always work when they swallow the bait past the tail... it does prevent a lot of it though.

Anyway, back to the fishing report. The shad are still spawning and can be caught on the docks right at daylight. It seems like its harder to find undersized fish most days but i have a few spots that we have been moving too after we get our overs. On the hook issue afore mentioned i agree with scooter, these fish coming out of 60-70 ft of water just have to much time to swallow any type of hook and i think a circle hook does cut down on swallowed hooks it does not keep some of them from swallowing it and i do not take any chances. The last thing i want is to have a box of big fish and risk killing more. My boat my rules. Havent had any disappointed customers so far. Its a fishery thing!!!!
