I've always done really well with clouser's and wooly buggers.

For mid-deep fish, I like big (like #2/0) weighted streamers like conehead woolly buggers, clousers, bunny leaches and such. I tie all kinds of wild-looking flies that don't really have names. Just color combinations and sizes that I want, using flowing materials that come alive under water. Flies like that work well.

Another must have is a crawfish.

But I'll only fish those flies when I can't get a bass to hit a frog on top. I'd rather catch one fish on top than 5 down deep. smile

I'm a popper addict to but the next best thing, in clear water, are large streamers such as deceivers and such, which I can see while I slowly fish them a few feet under the water. Its a blast when I can see the bass come up to them and hit them.

I dont do this too often since I prefer fishing flies I tie myself, but another real effective "lure" for fly rod fishing is a small plastic worm. My friend Cliff Hilbert, which many on this forum know, catches tons of nice bass this way, and fishing the small soft plastics with the fly rod lends to a more natural "finesse" presentation.

John 5:24 Very truly I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.

1Peter 3:18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit.
