Since black bass share their forage with sandbass( ie. shad), and most likely eat small sanbass too, is it logical to assume if you find schools of sandbass that are under schools of shad, should there not be black bass mixed in with the sanbass?

A couple weeks ago fishing at conchas lake in NM I was catching lots of sandbass and a few smalls and blacks mixed in so I would say that would be correct.

Yes, thats how my uncle won a tourny last week. Found some white bass schooling and caught a few to get there limit for the tournament (the bag was 5 whites and 3 blacks) and as they were leaving he decided to turn back and fish deeper to see if there were any black's under them and they caught two 7's and a 6 pounder. 20 pounds in 5 mins for 3 fish

My PB came when I was a kid. We were fishing a school of whites hitting the surface about 2 or 3 acres large. Catching them every cast. I finally decide to just play around with one a bit rather than ripping him in and throwing back out there. I get him just inside of visible distance under the water and I see a huge white and green blur behind him. They came up a little closer to the boat the next pass and the black grabbed the 1/4 oz chrome rat-l-trap out of his mouth and we got him in the net about 5 seconds later. 9 lbs 12 oz. So the answer is yes.

Of the two ramps at the north dock only one is usable but has been this way for a while. Didn't have any problems with the one we used. Not sure about the south dock saw some parked up there from a distance but not sure how the ramp is. If you fished it any last year I'd say the lake is down a few feet from that. Caught a bunch of small smallies and blacks, a few walleye, and a TON of sand bass. Seems like the sand bass are a lot worse than the past year or two.
