Mr. Canepole,

With your email that was sent to the City of Arlington Website, I have to also copy them on my replies. With this said I do allow floating fishing tubes on Lake Arlington, but only if they stay near the shoreline and out the main lanes of traffic. So please if you have any further questions call me at 817.451.6860. Thanks for your interest!

Mr. Clay,

Good Morning Ted,

Thank you very much for the reply.

Fishing from a Float tube is a popular past time for me (and a few others). There are U shaped float tubes, V shaped float tubes and of course, the Round float tubes - highly durable, powered with Scuba sized fins, some guys add a few things (rod holder, fish finder, etc) - very outdoors.

http://www.lsfta.com - there are several others.

Just curious about the ordinance(s) - are they re-evaluated from time to time?

Thanks again,

Canepole

There is a ordinance against fishing tubes, they would fall under the no swimming, wading or tubing in Lake Arlington. Fishing Tubes are considered free floating tubes, thus not permitted. If you have any other questions please give me a call at 817-451-6860.

Does this mean an experienced tube fisherman can fish Lake Arlington and not purchase a boat permit when in the tube? confused

What about a Kayak. I was told last year at the lake office that kayaks had to have the permit and if you had two kayaks you had to have a permit for each. bang
