FB, What you think about having a tourney in the October? I was think Saturday the 7th or 14th would be good, what do you think? If so, I was think about Lake Mineral Wells or a lake that large for obvious reasons. Let me know what you think, and I can help set everything up.

We had a tube tourney there about 2 years ago and everything seem to be fine, and the fish seem to look healthy.

Do we get to vote on a location? Do you have to pay to enter, or is it a "fun" tourney? I have never been in one, and just wondering the rules and such.

I'd be happy to set one up. I'm trying to get a group of TFFers to do a community service project on October 7th. The last weekend in September might be an option, or October 14th. As for location, here are a couple of ideas. Let me know your thoughts. -Meridian State Park (small lake--100 acres or so?, no outboard traffic, good fishing in the past) -Mineral Wells (same as above, but bigger lake) -Lost Creek (bigger lake, but very little boat traffic and no entry fees, if I recall correctly; good bass fishing) -Black Creek or Cottonwood Lake (LBJ Grasslands; 30-40 acres, if they aren't dust by then; good fishing, but can be challenging to catch legal-sized fish; no outboard motors) -Grapevine (Twin Coves area; idle speed only on boats; good fishing; low water may mean no boat traffic; good tourney site in the past) -Big Creek Reservoir (near Commerce; some BIG fish here; low water may mean no boats to contend with; no entry fee) I'd be open to any and all other suggestions. In the past, we did a $25 dollar entry fee (just for fun ) and an optional big bass pot ($10, I think). Payout was 100%, 1 place per five tubers. I'll do some advertising, if we decide to do this (email folks, place some fliers in BPS, Cabelas, etc.). I'd like to get a bigger turnout, so let me know if you are interested.

Skid/flip,
You bet. When I get the details ironed out, I'll post in the yakkers' section. Basically, anyone can fish, so long as they don't use a motorized craft.

FB and others,
I think a larger lake would be better, especialy if we can get a good sized group together. Mineral Wells or Big Creek sound good, but what about Lake Bridgeport, or Meridian? Which do you think would be best? I've only fished a one of these four and it was at the first fall tourney.
How gang, let's try to get some feedback on a time and place.
