Well at least they did not jump out of the live well into the lake. We had two keepers jump out at Ray Bob and cost us first place.

Left plug out twice,Left transom straps on and floated my trailer ,Left crankbait and jig box on back deck of buddies,boat..When we went to get gas,the jig box,was still there, crankbait box,was no where to be found..Backtracked,found the crankbait box, busted up,laying in the middle of the road..Managed to get about 10 back, but lost about 20 or so,several bandits, but many luckycrafts,Ouch!

Kind of did the same thing yesterday. Boated our 5th keeper of the day. I thought we already had 5 so I culled out a fish. Looked back in the livewells and only saw 4. This all happened after I lipped my partner's 4.5 pounder then decided to drop it off the side of the boat back into the lake. But it was all good after I caught a 6 pounder a few hours later.

[quote=okiebass]Put drain plug in livewell drain hole instead of the boat drain hole.

Glad I'm not the only one to have done this. I was putting my plug in at night and I noticed that it was a little more difficult to get in than usual but thought nothing of it and was in a hurry. I couldn't help but to laugh at myself when we got it back on the trailer and saw the plug in the livewell hole. 10 years ago and I still hear about that one.

First trip to the lake in my NEW 202DC Elite put the plug in the livewell hole and didn't know it. Unloaded the boat ran about 150 yards to my starting point(still 20min till day light). Started fishing and did not know about the plug till I stepped off the front deck into 1' of COLD water. Was able to fire it up and start down the lake till I got most of the water out then loaded back up and moved plug to the right hole. Next STUPID thing was I stoped fishing in 1999 parked the Champion till 2009. Got it fired up and went to the lake. Unloaded it and ran about 2miles was running GREAT till I hit a good wave and it just stopped! Could not get it running again. Got another friend to pull me back to the ramp loaded up and 75mile trip to the dealer to fix it. Pulled it into the shop and the first thing they found was I had pulled the Emergency switch by the shifter when I hit the wave. I never thought to check the kill switch after not being in the boat for 10years.(STUPID ME)

When I was about 16yrs old my dad and my brother went to the sabine river to go white bass fishing. We had unhooked everything....or so I thought. My dad backed me down the ramp I taking the boat off the trailer when I noticed that the starboard side of the boat was alot lowerthan the port side. I already knew what was happening so i reached my hand down in the water to loosen the transom strap....when i tried to loosen it the hinged part flipped up very quickly and had my pinky finger piched. Mean time my dad was wondering why it was taking so long...LOL...I was yelling 'pull the boat up!' and he was yelling whats takn so long!.....by this time a crowd of people were standing around watching the show. He finially pulled the boat back up and i got loose....all i can say is thank God for the cold water to numb my finger!...LOL!

done the plug thing, both leaving it in and forgeting it... left it in during rain twice, got to replace carpet. left a rod leaning over the deck a little fishing docks, snapped that one. Lost two transom savers at twin buttes, went swimming in COLD water, found a transom saver, to a smaller boat...tried to pick up rods that were strapped down or pick of the trolling motor while strapped more times than I can remember.

Since I am still a fairly new boater I have only had one mishap and that was at the mcdonalds tournament at fork in 2010 and I forgot to put the plug in launched my boat and just as my dad's friend launched his skeeter I remembered oh [censored] I didn't put the plug in so I yelled at them and I loaded my boat on his skeeter trailer and put the plug in. Luckily we were on a private ramp or I might have been screwed.

Continuing to use a rare, discontinued, and very effective bait prefishing on too light of line after already establishing that the fish were eating it.

I used to keep my boat at my Dad's house 50 miles away in Weatherford. I was taking a couple of friends out to Bridgeport who never had been on a boat and left my tongue lock key back at home. They saw the bad side of me for a minute until I grabbed my Dad's torch and cut the lock bar since it was 4:30am and I didn't want him to know...

Was fishing at Ivey in '93 with my prized two speed Shimano Beastmaster reel I got for HS graduation (I still haven's seen one since) and left my bait an inch the water on the back of the boat to help a guy load up his 2 man bassbuster...looked up when I heard a noise while holding his boat on my shoulder and watched a fish drag it off the back of the boat. We were in the Concho with the bow of the boat beached and the back of the boat in 30+ feet...tried for the next two days to grapple it up, but no luck.
