Flyingbass, Don't pay attention to ol' NV--he only catches his own fingers! I try to get out pretty much every weekend this time of year. I'll try to remember to post or shoot you an email. I'd be honored to have you join me. Do you already have a tube/waders/fins? NVT, I got your email. Let's look at the calendar and see what works. We'll put a post in here and try to get a bunch of tubers out for the trip. We could pitch a bunch of tents and sit around the campfire and tell lies to one another!

That's funny stuff, catching fingers, hahaha!
I thought about asking if you were going out Saturday, but, they are calling for windy conditions again.
As for the PC outing, yeah, a post would be good, and we can see what comes of up. With the drought, the only fire we will get to have is a video on a TV. LOL.

I have, over my life time, swam, waded, tubed and skinny dipped with gators not to mention the various water related snakes. When I started tubing it was sort of a do it yourself type of thing. You scrounged a truck tube and then made a canvas seat for it. A duffle bag from GI surplus provided several of us with out tube makings. In general a person in a tube does not look like dinner to any of the above at all. We used to TRY and get the gators to come to us and I never got one much closer that 25 feet or so. Now they ARE curious and will come to look at ya but they are not there to eat you. Thankfully our gators are nothing like those saltwater crocs that that crazy Australian guy is always messing with!!!! Crocs and snakes are both faster than you are in the water so you dont really have to worry about them. The only time you might have a problem is when you are entering and leaving the water. A gator can be a little cranky when they are snoozing in the sun or guarding a nest but other than that they are pretty nice critters. The snakes are even less likely to mess with you out in the water. You are WAY too big for them to want to eat and they can and will out run you there. The only issue that I have ever had with them is when they think that you are dry land or something and they want to crawl up on your tube to rest. A few swats with a rod tip will send em packing in a hurry. Just keep your eyes open when going in and coming out and you should be fine.
If you don't know where you are going, don't be surprised if you don't get there.

Watch it FB! Hey when are we going tubing again!
John 5:24 Very truly I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.
1Peter 3:18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit.

Flyingbass,
You just need to find the graphic you want online and add it to your profile signature. Right click on the graphic, select Properties, then copy the URL of the graphic. In your signature, add it as .
Christian,
We do need to go again--I'd loooove to get into some hybrids. I noticed CC had come up some after the last rain. I'm not sure about this weekend, but maybe we can do it the following weekend.

Been tube fishing for almost 35 years now, Dad started us tubing with him on small lakes around Wichita Falls.Have had 2,count 'em, 2 snakes on the tube with me at two different times. First one, moccassin sunning himself on the back of my tube, must've came outta some willows Dad and I were fishing on Lake Buffalo almost 30 years ago. Dad called me over and politely pushed him into the water with his rod butt.I didn't know?!? Second was a water snake wanting to sit in my lap while on Oak Creek last year. Was really nailin the crappie and was covered in fish slime on the front, snake came under my right arm and I looked down at his head in my lap like he was waiting for the next slab I pulled into da tube. NOW that one made my heart skip a few beats, let me tell ya. Anyhoos, seen literally hundreds up close and fer away, never been bit in my tube, and still pushing them paddles every chance I get. Good luck and keep kickin!!!!
God willin', I'm fishin.
