Remember back in January and February when getting shad was tough on Tawakoni.
Well, it's not tough anymore. Just about everywhere you go the shad are flicking the top of the water and a couple of throws you should be ready to fish. Don't do what I saw one guy do today. He tried to remove a very small channel cat out of his net w/ his hands instead of pliers...
Shad are easy.

Well, I must have forgot how to catch shad or something, because yesterday was the hardest I have ever had to work to catch shad on Tawakoni after February. I tried all my spots that I have been catching them for the last 12 years and I would catch just 1 or 2 a cast. Please help out with somewhere besides around the 751 bridge because those are pretty small. I am going back there on Saturday.
Let the big ones go!!

We fished with those small shad a couple weeks ago and limited. Don't be afraid of em. I decided to embrace the threadfins.

Shad are easy. I made that mistake a couple of years ago when I got my first cast net... little bastard stuck me good.. I couldn't believe how sharp they were..
